Is it possible to find an unselfish lover? Is it possible to become an unselfish lover to another? Where do we even begin to give and take in appropriate measure? As children we learn to want, to need, to hunger, and to feed off the adoration of all who enter our time and space.
We learn to love by crying and yearning for a nurturing nipple, a resting place near a safe heartbeat, coaxing us into a deep contented sleep. We learn to love through a selfish hunger. We learn to love simply through our desire to live.
